Hi there! I understand you're having trouble exiting the Ouranos app on your Android 10 device using the WebKit browser. That can definitely be confusing. To help you better, could you tell me a bit more about what happens when you try to exit? For example, does the app freeze, does the back button not respond, or do you get any error messages?

Meanwhile, here are some basic steps we can try to get the app to close properly:

1. Use the Recent Apps menu: Tap the square or overview button on your device to open the list of running apps. Then, swipe Ouranos off the screen to close it.

2. Force stop the app:
- Go to Settings on your Android device.
- Tap Apps & notifications (or just Apps).
- Find and tap Ouranos.
- Tap Force stop to close the app completely.

3. Restart your device: Sometimes a reboot clears any stuck processes.

4. Clear cache (optional if above don't work):
- In the Apps settings for Ouranos, tap Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear cache to remove temporary data that might cause issues.

If your device still does not exit the app after these steps, please let me know what you tried and what exactly happens. We'll dig deeper from there. Are you able to try these for me?

Yes, that is how I close ouranos! There is no back or exit button in the app so you are forced to use the Android back button. When you do, it returns to "home" and then does nothing. You have to go to recent apps and kill it. I certainly won't be buying it!

Thank you for sharing those details. It sounds like the app is designed without an in-app exit or back button, and the Android back button only returns you to the home screen but doesn’t actually close the app. This behavior means you have to manually kill it from Recent Apps to fully exit, which can be inconvenient.

Ouranos currently operates this way on Android 10 and uses the standard Android system controls for navigation. While not having an explicit exit button is unusual, it’s somewhat common for apps that maintain background processes or update data continuously. I checked for any known fixes or updates regarding this issue but didn’t find any official workaround that changes the exit behavior right now1.

Here are a couple of alternative options you might try to make closing the app easier:

1. Enable Developer Options and Use "Don't Keep Activities": This setting forces Android to close each app screen as soon as you leave it — effectively killing apps when you leave them. However, it can affect how other apps behave, so use with caution.
- Go to Settings > About phone
- Tap Build number 7 times to unlock Developer Options
- Go back to Settings > System > Developer options
- Find and toggle on Don't keep activities

2. Use a third-party app manager: There are apps on Google Play that let you quickly close or manage apps’ background processes with a single tap. This could make exiting Ouranos easier without going into Recent Apps every time.

3. Send feedback to Ouranos developers: They may consider adding a proper exit option or improving app behavior in a future update. You can reach them at [email protected].

While I understand this might impact your experience, these are the current workarounds available for Android users. If you want, I can guide you through enabling Developer Options or recommending trusted app managers suited for your Android 10 device.

Would you like me to help you try one of these? Or is there anything else about the app’s behavior bothering you?
