Hi there! I’d like to help you get to the bottom of why the waitlist isn’t generating when your Meetup event is full. Just to clarify a bit:

- Are you the organizer of this event?
- Have you already set an RSVP limit on the event?
- When the event hits full capacity, do you see an option or notification for a waitlist at all?
- Are attendees trying to RSVP after it’s full but not getting added to the waitlist?

Knowing these details will help me guide you better. In general, Meetup’s waitlist feature activates automatically once you set an RSVP limit, and additional members should be prompted to join the waitlist after that limit is reached.

If you haven’t yet set the RSVP limit, the waitlist won’t generate because the system doesn’t know when the event is full. Here’s a quick checklist for you:

1. Open your event page on Meetup (using your Android device’s browser).
2. Edit the event details.
3. Look for the RSVP limit setting and make sure it’s set to the maximum number of attendees you want.
4. Enable the waitlist if there’s a toggle or option—sometimes this is automatic, but double-check if there’s a manual enable switch.
5. Save changes and test viewing the event as a non-RSVP’d member to see if the waitlist option appears once the maximum is reached.

If your RSVP limit is set and you still don’t see the waitlist when full, it might be a bug or a recent change in Meetup’s system. Also, keep in mind that priority access to waitlists is now part of the Meetup+ subscription, meaning some waitlist spots might be reserved for paid subscribers, which could affect normal waitlist behavior1 3.

Let me know what you find or if you’ve already tried these steps, and we can go deeper with some advanced troubleshooting!

Thanks for the additional info! Since you’ve already set the RSVP limit on both your Android device and desktop but aren’t seeing any option or prompt for enabling or managing a waitlist, here’s what I suggest:

1. Meetup's waitlist feature is designed to activate automatically once the RSVP limit is reached. Organizers typically do not need to manually enable it. So, if your event is full, members should see the option to join the waitlist.

2. However, Meetup recently updated its waitlist system, making waitlist priority exclusive to Meetup+ subscribers. This means that priority access to waitlist spots might only be available for paid subscribers, and sometimes free members may not see the waitlist option immediately or have limited waitlist functionality3.

3. Since you don’t see the waitlist option anywhere on your end, I recommend these steps:
- Double-check that your event has indeed reached the RSVP limit completely (all spots confirmed).
- Ask a member who tries to RSVP after the event is full to refresh their app or browser and look for the waitlist option—they should see a button to join automatically.
- Review the event page on both your desktop and your Android device as a non-organizer or logged-out user (maybe use incognito mode) to see if the waitlist option appears there.

4. If after these checks the waitlist still doesn’t show up for attendees, it could be related to:
- The Meetup+ waitlist prioritization limiting free waitlist access.
- A temporary glitch or sync issue across the devices and platforms.

5. You can also check Meetup’s official help page on managing events which includes info on waitlists here: Creating and managing events - Meetup for any updated instructions.

If the waitlist still isn’t visible and members continue to ask about it after your event is full, or if the automatic waitlist doesn’t appear at all, it might be useful to contact Meetup’s support for organizers through their help center or via email at [email protected] for more detailed assistance specifically related to waitlist behavior on your account and devices.

Would you like me to walk you through any of these steps? Or assist with drafting a support request?

Got it! I’ll help you draft a clear, professional message to Meetup support about your waitlist issue. Here’s a draft you can use or modify as needed:

---

Subject: Waitlist Not Generating for Full Event Despite RSVP Limit Set

Hello Meetup Support Team,

I hope you’re well. I’m an organizer of a Meetup event, and I’m experiencing an issue with the waitlist feature.

I have set an RSVP limit for my event, and it has reached full capacity. However, attendees who try to RSVP after the limit is met are not seeing any option to join a waitlist. I have checked both on my Android device (WebKit browser on Android 10) and desktop, but neither interface displays a waitlist prompt or option.

To clarify:
- The RSVP limit is definitely set and confirmed multiple times.
- The event is showing as full to attendees.
- No manual waitlist enabling option is visible to me as the organizer.
- Members are requesting to join a waitlist, but it is not available.

Could you please advise if there is a new requirement or setting for enabling waitlists? Also, is there a known issue or workaround for this on Android or desktop versions? Any guidance would be much appreciated as I want to manage attendance fairly and efficiently.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

Hi! I’d be happy to guide you on the Meetup app user guide and features. Meetup offers a variety of tools to help both members and organizers connect and manage events smoothly. Here are some key points and resources to get you started:

1. Basic Overview of Meetup Functions
Meetup helps you find and join groups based on your interests, join or create events, and connect with local communities. As an organizer, you can create events, manage RSVPs, and engage with your group members.1

2. Creating and Managing Events
You can create events, add details, set RSVP limits, and manage event attendees. For organizers, there are tools to promote events, connect with attendees, and even integrate Zoom for virtual meetups.3

3. Event Check-In Feature
Newer Meetup organizer tools include Event Check-In, letting you easily check attendees in during your event via the Meetup for Organizers app. It helps keep track of who showed up.2

4. Meetup Starter & Pro Plans
Meetup offers different subscription tiers like Meetup Starter for beginner organizers and Meetup Pro for advanced community-building features, which add more control over event management and branding.7 8

5. Notifications and Communication
Meetup keeps you informed through push notifications, emails, and in-app messages so you never miss updates or important group activity.9

If you'd like, I can direct you to a full step-by-step user guide or any specific feature tutorial. Would you prefer detailed instructions on organizing events, managing members, or using specific Meetup app functionalities? Let me know!

Thanks for sharing your question about the Meetup app notification "Not now, thank you" issues. To make sure I understand correctly—are you experiencing a problem with a specific notification prompt that offers the option "Not now, thank you" and the app is not responding properly when you select it? Or is it that this message keeps appearing and you'd like to stop seeing it?

If you can tell me a bit more about when and where you see this notification—whether it's on your Android device browser or the Meetup app itself—and what happens when you choose "Not now, thank you," I can help guide you toward a solution.

Meanwhile, some general tips that might help are:
- Clearing the browser cache and cookies if you use Meetup via browser on Android.
- Making sure the Meetup app is updated to the latest version if you use the app.
- Checking the app notification settings on your Android device to ensure they’re set according to your preferences.

Let me know a bit more about your situation, and I’ll assist you further!
