Hi there! I understand you're having trouble entering the departure city in AirAsia MOVE. To help you better, could you tell me a bit more about what exactly happens when you try to enter the departure city? For example, does the field not respond, does it give an error, or do the options not show up?

In the meantime, here are a few quick things you can try:

1. Refresh the page or restart the AirAsia MOVE app to see if it resolves any temporary glitches.
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies, especially since you're using a Windows system with WebKit browsing.
3. Make sure your app or browser is up to date.
4. Try using a different browser or device to check if the issue is device-specific.

Let me know what you observe, and we can proceed from there!

Thanks for the extra detail—that helps a lot. It sounds like you’re able to select Perth as your departure city, but when you move forward in the booking process, it automatically switches back to Melbourne.

This behavior can sometimes happen due to a few reasons, especially with the AirAsia MOVE platform:

1. Session or Cookie Issue: Sometimes, if the website/app has saved a previous location or booking session, it might revert to that saved preference. Clearing your browser cache and cookies could help reset this. Since you're on Windows with WebKit, try clearing browsing data for all time, then restart the browser.

2. Browser or App Glitch: Occasionally, the platform experiences temporary glitches affecting city selections. You mentioned using WebKit-based browsing—trying a different browser like Chrome or Firefox, or the AirAsia MOVE app itself, might avoid this issue.

3. Flight Availability or Route Restrictions: AirAsia MOVE may automatically revert the city if there are no available flights from Perth for your selected dates or passengers. So, after selecting Perth, double-check your dates or see if the flight route is open. The platform might roll back to Melbourne if Perth options are limited or temporarily unavailable.

4. Known Platform Glitch: Some users have reported issues selecting Perth as a departure city, especially in the check-in phase or modification stages1. This might be from a temporary system limitation or a third-party backend glitch causing the selection to reset.

Here’s what I suggest you try step-by-step:

1. Clear your browser cache and cookies completely, then close and reopen your browser.
2. Try using the latest version of a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended) or the official AirAsia MOVE app if you haven’t already.
3. Confirm the dates and number of passengers match standard availability—sometimes selecting unusual combos triggers reverts.
4. If it still switches back to Melbourne, try starting a fresh booking session in a private/incognito window to avoid any cached sessions interfering.
5. If none of these work, consider reaching out to AirAsia MOVE support directly at [email protected] to check if there are any route-specific or system issues affecting your booking.

Let me know if you want me to guide you through clearing your browser cache or trying the app version. Are you satisfied with this solution so far?

Thanks for letting me know that you've cleared all your browser data, cache, and cookies, and even tried other browsers. Since these standard fixes haven’t resolved the issue, it seems like the problem might be related to either a deeper platform glitch or availability restrictions.

Given that AirAsia MOVE sometimes experiences syncing or third-party data issues that cause the booking selections to revert unexpectedly5, here’s what I recommend next:

1. Try the AirAsia MOVE mobile app if you haven't yet. Sometimes the app handles bookings differently and may bypass browser-specific issues.
2. Attempt the booking process in a private/incognito window to ensure no cached session data interferes.
3. Double-check flight availability for Perth on your selected dates—if flights are unavailable or temporarily blocked by the system, it could revert to Melbourne automatically.
4. If these don’t help, the issue might be on AirAsia’s end. I suggest contacting AirAsia MOVE support directly via email at [email protected], explaining the problem and all the troubleshooting you’ve done—they might provide system updates or workarounds.

Would you like me to help you step-by-step with using the app or trying incognito mode? Or I can assist in drafting a message for AirAsia support. Are you satisfied with this approach for now?
